Gwardia Ludowa
Gwardia Ludowa was a Polish underground resistance movement during World War II, active from 1939 to 1944. It was formed by socialists and communists to oppose the occupying German forces and the collaborating Polish government. Operating secretly, they engaged in sabotage, intelligence gathering, and supporting underground activities to resist oppression and protect Polish citizens. In 1944, it transformed into the Armia Ludowa, becoming part of the broader anti-Nazi resistance. The Gwardia Ludowa played a significant role in Poland's wartime resistance efforts, representing a communist-led initiative within the broader Polish underground movement.
