Gustav Theodor Fechner

Gustav Theodor Fechner was a German psychologist and philosopher who laid the groundwork for the science of psychoacoustics, which studies how we perceive sound. He developed methods to measure the relationship between physical stimuli (like sound waves) and our psychological responses (like loudness). His work led to Fechner's Law, which explains how our perception of sensory experiences doesn’t change in direct proportion to the actual changes in stimuli. Essentially, he helped us understand that our experience of sound is not just about the noise itself but also how we interpret and feel about it.
