
Guru Arjan Dev
Guru Arjan Dev was the fifth Sikh Guru, serving from 1581 to 1606. He is known for compiling the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism, which includes writings from Sikh Gurus and other spiritual leaders. He promoted equality, compassion, and spiritual devotion, emphasizing living a truthful life regardless of social status. Guru Arjan also built the Golden Temple in Amritsar, a major religious site for Sikhs. His leadership helped strengthen the Sikh community and promote a message of peace, justice, and spiritual unity. His martyrdom marked a pivotal moment in Sikh history, inspiring resilience and faith.
