Gupta Empire (as a successor)

The Gupta Empire, which emerged around 320 CE in ancient India, is often regarded as a golden age of culture, science, and political stability. It succeeded earlier dynasties and expanded its influence throughout much of the Indian subcontinent. Under the Guptas, significant advancements occurred in mathematics, astronomy, literature, and art, including the development of the numeral system we use today. The empire fostered religious tolerance and promoted both Hinduism and Buddhism. It ultimately declined around the 6th century but laid foundational aspects of Indian culture that still resonate today.
