Gulf Coast Claims Facility
The Gulf Coast Claims Facility was established to manage and process claims from individuals and businesses affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010. It provided a streamlined process for submitting and receiving compensation for damages, cleanup costs, and related losses. The facility aimed to ensure fair, timely resolution of claims by offering clear guidelines and support. It was operated collaboratively by BP, the U.S. government, and administrative partners, and officially closed in 2014 after most claims had been settled.
