Guardians ad Litem
A Guardian ad Litem (GAL) is a legal representative appointed by the court to advocate for the best interests of a child or incapacitated person involved in a legal case. Their role is to investigate the circumstances, gather information, and present recommendations to the court to ensure the individual’s needs and rights are prioritized. GALs act independently of other parties, providing an objective perspective to help the court make informed decisions about custody, guardianship, or welfare matters. They are committed to safeguarding the person's well-being and ensuring their voice is heard in legal proceedings.
