Guam government
Guam is an unincorporated territory of the United States in the western Pacific. Its government operates under a combination of local laws and U.S. federal laws. Guam has a governor, a legislature, and a judicial system. The governor is elected by the people and oversees the executive branch, while the legislature, composed of elected senators, creates local laws. Although residents are U.S. citizens, they cannot vote in U.S. presidential elections. The island has a unique cultural identity, blending indigenous Chamorro heritage with influences from the U.S. and other nations.
