GSPC (Groupe Salafiste pour la Prédication et le Combat)

GSPC, or Groupe Salafiste pour la Prédication et le Combat, is an Algerian militant group founded in the late 1990s. It initially aimed to establish an Islamic state through militant means, including armed conflict. Over time, it became associated with global jihad movements and was linked to Al-Qaeda. In 2009, it officially rebranded as Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), expanding its operations across North Africa. The group engages in terrorism and insurgent activities, targeting governments, security forces, and civilians, primarily in the Maghreb region.
