GSAT (Geostationary Satellite)
GSAT, or Geostationary Satellite, is a satellite positioned about 35,786 kilometers above the Earth's equator. It orbits at the same rate the Earth rotates, so it appears stationary relative to a fixed point on the ground. This allows it to provide continuous coverage over a specific region, making it ideal for TV broadcasting, weather monitoring, and telecommunications. Because of its fixed position, ground antennas can be permanently aimed at the satellite without needing to track its movement. This stability simplifies communication and data transmission for services that require constant coverage over the same area.
