Grupo de los Ocho

Grupo de los Ocho (G8) was an international forum consisting of eight of the world's leading advanced economies: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Established to facilitate official yearly discussions on global economic issues, it provided a platform for policymakers to coordinate economic policies, address international challenges, and promote global stability. In 2014, Russia's suspension due to geopolitical issues led to the group's transition, and it evolved into G7 without Russia. The G8/G7 remains influential in shaping international economic and political cooperation among the world's most developed nations.
