Grenada Revolution
The Grenada Revolution was a political movement in 1979-1983 when a group called the New Jewel Movement overthrew the government and took control of Grenada, a small Caribbean island. Led by Maurice Bishop, they aimed to create a socialist society, improve education and healthcare, and reduce inequality. However, internal conflicts, power struggles, and tensions with neighboring countries, especially the United States, led to a military invasion in 1983, removing the new government and restoring traditional political rule. The revolution significantly impacted Grenada’s history, shaping its political and social landscape.
