Green River Killer
The Green River Killer, whose real name is Gary Ridgway, is a convicted American serial killer responsible for the murders of at least 71 women from the early 1980s to the 1990s in Washington State. He targeted vulnerable women, often sex workers or those on the fringes of society, and would pick them up, kill them, and later dump their bodies in the Green River area. His crimes remained unsolved for many years until DNA evidence linked him to the murders. Ridgway later confessed, leading to a life sentence without parole.
