Green Gentrification

Green gentrification refers to the process where improvements in urban green spaces, like parks or eco-friendly developments, can lead to rising property values and living costs in a neighborhood. While these enhancements aim to benefit the community by providing better environmental quality and recreational spaces, they can unintentionally push out lower-income residents who can no longer afford to live there. This creates a cycle where the very improvements that make a neighborhood more desirable also contribute to the displacement of long-standing community members, often altering the social and cultural fabric of the area.
