Green Card (U.S. permanent residency)

A U.S. Green Card, officially called a Permanent Resident Card, grants an individual lawful status to live and work permanently in the United States. It is evidence of permanent residency and allows the holder to enjoy most benefits of U.S. citizens, such as employment opportunities and protection under U.S. laws. Green Card holders can travel in and out of the country, though extended absences may impact their status. This status can eventually lead to eligibility for U.S. citizenship through naturalization. Obtaining a Green Card typically involves an application process through family, employment, or other qualifying categories.
