Greek Orders
Greek Orders are styles of classical architecture characterized by distinct column designs, developed in ancient Greece. There are three main types: Doric, characterized by simple, sturdy columns with plain capitals; Ionic, featuring thinner columns with scroll-shaped volutes on the capitals; and Corinthian, the most decorative, with slender columns topped by elaborate, leaf-like capitals. Each order reflects different aesthetic qualities and structural principles, influencing building design and ornamentation. These styles have been influential in Western architecture, serving as foundational elements for many historical and modern structures.
