Greek government

Greece's government is a parliamentary democracy, meaning elected representatives make decisions and govern on behalf of the people. The President is the head of state, mainly performing ceremonial duties, while the Prime Minister is the head of government and leads the executive branch. The parliament, called the Hellenic Parliament, is elected by citizens through voting and creates laws. Greece’s political system also includes independent institutions like the judiciary and various ministries that oversee different policy areas. This structure ensures checks and balances, allowing for governance that reflects the popular will while protecting democratic principles.
