Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS)

The Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) is a cooperation framework among six Southeast Asian countries—Cambodia, China's Yunnan and Guangxi provinces, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam—focused on promoting sustainable development and regional integration. It aims to improve infrastructure, trade, connectivity, and economic growth in the area around the Mekong River. By working together, these countries seek to reduce poverty, enhance transportation networks, and encourage investment, fostering stability and prosperity across the region while respecting diverse cultures and environments.
