Great Perfection (Dzogchen)

Great Perfection, or Dzogchen, is a central teaching in Tibetan Buddhism that emphasizes directly recognizing and resting in the natural, innate state of mind—pure awareness uncluttered by conceptual thoughts or emotions. It encourages practitioners to see beyond ordinary perceptions, realizing their true nature as already complete and perfect. Rather than focusing on rituals or external practices, Dzogchen emphasizes effortless presence and spontaneous realization, leading to liberation. It aims to dissolve the distinction between samsara (ordinary existence) and nirvana, revealing the inherent purity and fullness of consciousness as our true, unchanging nature.
