Great Green Wall

The Great Green Wall is an ambitious environmental project across 11 African countries to combat desertification by planting a continuous strip of trees and vegetation. Its goal is to restore degraded land, improve local economies, and provide ecological benefits like better water retention and biodiversity. This initiative helps counteract the expansion of deserts, supports communities, and promotes sustainable land management. By creating a "wall" of green, the project aims to transform arid regions into productive, resilient landscapes, fostering environmental and social stability across the Sahel and Sahara regions.
