Gray mold

Gray mold, caused by the fungus Botrytis cinerea, is a common plant disease that affects many fruits, vegetables, and flowers. It thrives in moist, humid conditions and appears as fuzzy, grayish mold on infected tissues. The mold destroys plant tissues, causing decay and often leading to rot. It spreads rapidly through spores that are carried by the air, water, or contact. Proper sanitation, good airflow, and removing infected parts help prevent its spread. Managing humidity and using fungicides when necessary can also help control gray mold and protect healthy plants.
