GRAVITON
A graviton is a hypothetical elementary particle that physicists propose as the messenger of gravity in quantum theories. If gravity is like other fundamental forces, it would be transmitted by particles, and the graviton would be the smallest, most basic unit of the gravitational force. While gravity is well-described by Einstein’s general relativity as the curvature of spacetime, a quantum approach suggests this force could be carried by gravitons, similar to how photons carry electromagnetic force. Currently, gravitons remain theoretical—they have not yet been observed, but their existence would unify gravity with quantum physics.
