Gravesian theory

Gravesian theory, developed by psychologist Clare W. Graves, explains how human values, beliefs, and motivations evolve over time in response to changing life conditions. It proposes that individuals and societies progress through a series of stages, each characterized by different worldviews and ways of thinking. These stages are part of a developmental continuum, with later stages building on or transcending earlier ones. Gravesian theory helps understand cultural differences, human development, and how societal values shift in response to challenges, highlighting that growth involves moving toward more complex, integrated ways of understanding and adapting to the world.
