The Graduated License Program (GLP) is a system that gradually introduces new drivers to full driving privileges in stages. Typically, new drivers start with a learner or provisional license, which has restrictions like no nighttime driving or passenger limits. After demonstrating safe driving over a set period, they progress to a full, unrestricted license. The program aims to reduce crashes among inexperienced drivers by allowing them to gain experience gradually and learn safe driving habits in controlled environments before gaining complete driving freedom.
