Govinda Bhagavatpada was an influential Indian philosopher and spiritual teacher of the 8th century, widely regarded as a key figure in the Advaita Vedanta tradition. He is best known as the teacher of Shankaracharya, who revitalized and spread non-dualistic philosophy that emphasizes the unity of the individual soul (Atman) with the ultimate reality (Brahman).
