Governor’s Rule

Governor’s Rule is a constitutional provision used in India when a state's government cannot function properly due to political instability or breakdown of law and order. Under this rule, the central government appoints the Governor to assume direct control of the state's administration temporarily, replacing elected officials. The Governor acts on behalf of the central government, managing the state's governance until normal political processes can be restored, such as the formation of a new government through elections. It is a safeguard to maintain law, order, and administration in critical situations.
