Government of National Unity (Zimbabwe)

The Government of National Unity (GNU) in Zimbabwe was a power-sharing arrangement formed in 2009 to stabilize the country after a disputed election. It combined leaders from the main political parties, primarily Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF and Morgan Tsvangirai's MDC, to govern jointly. This coalition aimed to promote peace, address economic challenges, and implement reforms despite political differences. The GNU lasted until 2013, representing a collaborative effort to restore stability and confidence in Zimbabwe's governance following years of conflict and political crisis.
