Gorham

Gorham disease, also known as Gorham's syndrome, is a rare condition where bone tissue gradually disappears, replaced by abnormal blood vessels or fibrous tissue. This leads to progressive bone loss, often causing pain, weakness, and deformity. The exact cause is unknown, but it involves abnormal growth of blood vessels that erode bone from within. It can affect any bone but commonly involves the skull, shoulder, or pelvic bones. Diagnosis is challenging and typically involves imaging studies. Treatment options include surgery, radiation, or medication to control the abnormal blood vessel growth, but there is no definitive cure.
