Gordium
Gordium was an ancient city located in Phrygia, in what is now Turkey. It is famous for the "Gordian Knot," a complex knot that legend says was impossible to untie. According to myth, a prophecy declared that whoever could untie the knot would become ruler of Asia. When Alexander the Great faced the challenge, he supposedly sliced through the knot with his sword, symbolizing a bold and decisive approach to problem-solving. Today, "cutting the Gordian Knot" is a phrase used to describe solving a difficult problem quickly and decisively by thinking outside the box.
