Google’s Project Aristotle
Google’s Project Aristotle was a research initiative that aimed to understand what makes work teams succeed. By studying over 180 teams within Google, the project found that psychological safety—an environment where team members feel comfortable sharing ideas and making mistakes without fear—was the most important factor. Other important factors included dependability, structure and clarity, meaning in work, and having a good team climate. These insights guide organizations to foster collaboration by encouraging openness and trust, ultimately improving team performance and innovation.
