Google Prediction Markets

Google Prediction Markets was an online platform where users could buy and sell virtual shares in the outcomes of future events, such as elections or product launches. The prices of these shares reflected the collective opinion of the community about the likelihood of each event happening. By aggregating individual beliefs, the market provided a crowdsourced forecast, often more accurate than individual predictions. Launched by Google in 2010, the platform aimed to leverage collective intelligence for better forecasting. It was discontinued in 2013 but demonstrated how market mechanisms could be used to predict future events based on widespread user input.
