Google PageRank algorithm

Google's PageRank algorithm assesses the importance of a webpage based on the quantity and quality of links pointing to it. Think of each link as a vote; a link from a highly regarded page carries more weight than one from less authoritative sources. The algorithm iteratively distributes "rank" scores across pages, so pages with many valuable links tend to rank higher in search results. Essentially, PageRank measures a page’s influence within the web’s interconnected network, helping Google present the most relevant and reputable pages to users.
