Good Cop/Bad Cop
Good Cop/Bad Cop is a psychological strategy often used in negotiations or interrogations. Two individuals adopt contrasting roles: one acts harsh, demanding, or intimidating (Bad Cop), while the other appears sympathetic, understanding, and reasonable (Good Cop). The idea is to manipulate the other party’s emotions—making them more likely to comply with requests or agreements—to a perceived "moderate" position presented by the Good Cop. This technique relies on creating a sense of relief or trust with the Good Cop, making the target more receptive to concessions or information.
