Gold Record
A Gold Record is an award given to an artist or record company for achieving a significant level of sales or shipments of a music album or single. In the United States, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) grants a Gold certification when an album or single sells 500,000 copies. It serves as a recognition of commercial success and popularity, symbolized by a physical or digital award. Gold Records are also awarded in other countries, often with different sales thresholds, but they share the common goal of celebrating music industry milestones.
