GNSS Signal

A GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) signal is a radio wave transmitted by satellites orbiting the Earth, which contains timing and location information. Devices like smartphones or GPS receivers pick up these signals to determine their precise position, altitude, and speed. The system works by analyzing signals from multiple satellites—usually at least four—to calculate your exact location through mathematical triangulation. GNSS signals are essential for navigation, enabling accurate positioning for driving, hiking, surveying, and many other activities, even in remote or urban environments.
