GMHC, originally known as the Gay Men's Health Crisis, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the AIDS epidemic and supporting the health and well-being of people living with HIV. Founded in 1982 in New York City, GMHC provides health education, prevention programs, housing assistance, counseling, and advocacy. Its work aims to reduce new HIV infections, improve quality of life for those affected, and combat related stigma.
