Glyptodon

Glyptodon was a large, extinct mammal related to modern armadillos, living around 11,000 to 2,500 years ago in South America. It resembled a giant armored tank with a rounded shell made of bony plates, providing protection from predators. The creature was about 10-15 feet long and weighed up to 2,700 pounds. Glyptodons were herbivores, feeding mainly on plants. Their sturdy shell and massive size helped them survive in their environment, but they went extinct likely due to climate changes and human activity at the end of the last Ice Age.
