Glyn Dŵr’s revolt

Glyn Dŵr’s revolt was a Welsh uprising in the early 15th century, led by Sir Owain Glyndŵr. He aimed to regain Welsh independence from English rule, motivated by political oppression, cultural suppression, and high taxes. Starting in 1400, Glyndŵr rallied Welsh nobles and commoners, leading a rebellion that challenged English authority. While initially successful and gaining significant support, the revolt ultimately was suppressed by English forces by the mid-1400s. Nonetheless, it remains a symbol of Welsh national identity and resistance against foreign domination.
