Glyn Dŵr (Owain Glyndŵr)
Owain Glyndŵr, also known as Glyn Dŵr, was a Welsh leader and noble who led a significant uprising against English rule in Wales during the early 15th century. Around 1400, he declared himself Prince of Wales, rallying Welsh clans to seek independence and restore Welsh sovereignty. His rebellion aimed to resist English dominance and promote Welsh culture and identity. Although ultimately unsuccessful in achieving full independence, Glyndŵr remains a symbol of Welsh resistance and national pride. His efforts sparked a national movement, and his legacy endures in Welsh history and folklore.
