Glycan arrays

Glycan arrays are laboratory tools used to study how proteins, such as antibodies or pathogens, interact with specific sugar molecules (glycans). They consist of many different glycans attached to a surface in a grid pattern. When a sample containing a protein is applied, it binds to particular glycans, revealing which sugars it recognizes. This helps researchers understand immune responses, pathogen mechanisms, and potential targets for treatments by providing detailed mapping of protein-glycan interactions in a high-throughput way.
