Gluon Field

In quantum chromodynamics (QCD), which is the theory of the strong force binding quarks and gluons in protons and neutrons, "gluons" are the particles responsible for this force. A "gluon field" is a mathematical construct that describes how these gluons interact with quarks and with each other. Just as an electric field describes the influence of electric charges, a gluon field represents the dynamic environment that affects how quarks behave at very small scales. This field is fundamental to understanding how matter is held together at the atomic level through the strong nuclear force.
