Global Snakebite Initiative
The Global Snakebite Initiative (GSI) is an organization dedicated to reducing deaths and injuries caused by snakebites worldwide. It works to improve access to effective treatments, increase awareness, and support research and policy reforms. Snakebite envenoming primarily affects rural and marginalized communities in developing regions, where medical resources are limited. By collaborating with governments, healthcare providers, and local organizations, GSI aims to strengthen healthcare systems, promote the production of affordable antivenoms, and educate at-risk populations about prevention and treatment, ultimately saving lives and reducing suffering caused by snakebites.
