Global Harmonization Task Force (GHTF)

The Global Harmonization Task Force (GHTF) was an organization established to improve the safety and quality of medical devices worldwide by creating consistent standards and regulations. Its goal was to align different countries' rules, making it easier for manufacturers to bring medical devices to multiple markets without unnecessary delays or costs. Although it officially disbanded in 2012, its work influenced the development of regulations like the International Medical Device Regulators Forum (IMDRF), continuing efforts to harmonize global medical device standards and ensure patient safety everywhere.
