Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS)

The Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) is an initiative by the World Health Organization to monitor how bacteria and other microbes are responding to medicines meant to treat infections. It collects and analyzes data from countries worldwide to understand trends in antimicrobial resistance—when microbes no longer respond to treatments—and patterns of how antibiotics and other drugs are used. This helps health authorities identify problems early, develop effective strategies, and ensure medicines remain effective for preventing and treating infections globally.
