Glenohumeral Dislocation

Glenohumeral dislocation occurs when the upper arm bone (humerus) slips out of the shoulder socket (glenoid). This usually results from trauma, such as a fall or a direct blow, causing intense pain and limited movement. The shoulder may appear visibly deformed or out of place. Treatment involves carefully repositioning the bone back into the socket, often followed by rest, immobilization, and physical therapy to restore strength and prevent future dislocations. Prompt medical attention is important to minimize damage to surrounding tissues, nerves, and blood vessels.
