The Glenn L. Martin Company was an American aerospace and defense firm founded in 1912 by Glenn L. Martin. It specialized in designing and manufacturing aircraft, including military planes, as well as space and missile systems. In 1961, it merged with other companies to become part of Martin Marietta, which later merged with Lockheed Corporation to form Lockheed Martin, a major aerospace and defense contractor today.
