Glenanne gang
The Glenanne Gang was a covert group involved in sectarian violence in Northern Ireland during the 1970s. Comprising members of the British Army, police, and loyalist paramilitary groups, they carried out attacks targeting Catholic civilians and nationalist communities, often with collusion from security forces. Their actions aimed to intimidate and suppress Irish nationalist aspirations. The gang's activities contributed significantly to the violence and instability during the Troubles, a period marked by conflict between unionists/loyalists who wanted to remain part of the UK and nationalists/republicans seeking Irish unification.
