Glaucon
Glaucon was an ancient Greek philosopher and a friend of Plato, known for his contributions to ethics and political philosophy. In Plato’s dialogues, especially "The Republic," Glaucon discusses justice, morality, and the nature of the soul. He challenges Socrates by exploring whether justice is valued for its own sake or for the benefits it brings. Glaucon's role is to provoke deeper thinking about whether people act morally because it is inherently right or because of external rewards or punishments, encouraging a more thorough understanding of human motivation and justice.
