glassblowing tools

Glassblowing tools are specialized instruments used to shape and manipulate molten glass. The blowpipe is a long tube for gathering and blowing air into the glass. Pointers or tweezers help shape and hold hot glass. Shears cut or trim glass sections. Marvers and paddles are used to flatten or mold the glass surface. Blocks or wooden pads are for smoothing and cooling. A kiln or annealer slowly cools finished pieces to relieve stress. These tools allow artisans to craft diverse glass objects, from delicate sculptures to functional vessels, through precise control of heat and form.
