Glanzmann's Thrombasthenia

Glanzmann's Thrombasthenia is a rare inherited disorder where blood platelets, which help stop bleeding, don’t work properly because they lack a specific protein called GPIIb/IIIa. This protein is essential for platelets to stick together and form blood clots. As a result, people with this condition tend to bruise easily, have frequent nosebleeds, and may experience excessive bleeding after injuries or surgeries. Although platelets are present in normal numbers, their inability to clump together effectively causes bleeding problems. It’s typically inherited and managed through careful medical care to control bleeding episodes.
