Gipsverband
A Gipsverband, or plaster cast, is a medical device used to immobilize broken bones or severe sprains. It is made by applying a waterproof or non-waterproof padding followed by a hard layer of plaster or fiberglass. This cast supports and stabilizes the injured area, preventing movement that could worsen damage and promoting proper healing. Once the healing process is complete, the cast is carefully removed by a healthcare professional. Gipsverband are commonly used for fractures in arms, legs, or other limbs, ensuring the bones stay in the correct position during recovery.
